“The work of Larry James brings out the reality of the Biblical narrative in striking colours and is thus a stirring invitation to the viewers to have their own personal narratives joined to the life brought to us by Jesus Christ!” LT [Lawrence Theodore Jeyachandran], Executive Director, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (Asia-Pacific) April 2003-September 2012.
L.S. James has written an ambitious exploration of the Bible’s developing story involving mankind’s turbulent relationship with God, The Christ of God and Other Eschatological Motifs. As a reformed believer, I found myself arguing with some of James’ interior monologues but he included scriptural passages that resulted in an altered strengthened Christian belief. This interplay between James’ and God’s thoughts allows a reader to reexamine doubts, provides an opportunity to struggle with their own nature of evil, and scriptural authority to relieve our contemporary fear of worldly concerns. This book also provides an historical map for unbelievers willing to investigate what is most fearful – a painful death. The drawings and paintings of scripture provide a non-verbal interior journey that differentiates it from all other books on God’s plan for redemption and end times. Consider this book a-work-in-progress that invites you into an adventurous journey into truth. I pray for your participation and involvement. Susan Barron BFA, MFA, 2016. Seattle, USA.“Intrigue…is usually triggered in me whenever I receive a work by Larry James presented in his inimitable style – whether it be a piece of his painting, his music, or a message! It never fails to challenge my way of thinking! Reading this book made me pause…to consider the Scriptures I have read and memorized…the history of Israel…faith…doctrine…the Gospel…joy…alternate perspectives…the end times…questions…discomfort…hope!
Moving intentionally through the 7 Biblical topics, 28 subtopics, and 17 subheadings and more than 60 prints of his art pieces – Larry invites you to journey down “a road never travelled before” to discover all these and more for yourself! Yet, I also observe a strong message of love, eternal love, - the only unconditional love of Father God – the Alpha and Omega. I was reminded of *Viktor Frankl’s statement (1974), “I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of man is through love and in love.” Thank you, Larry, for doing just that to remind us of the wonderful love and grace of our Heavenly Father! *Viktor Frankl (1974), Man's Search for Ultimate Meaning.Rev Sam Kuna, 2020 (Dean, School of Counseling, TCA College, Singapore).
